2 Hospitalized after Simi Valley Motorcycle Collision on Tierra Rejada Road

SIMI VALLEY, CA (January 28, 2020) – Two people sustained critical injuries in a car and motorcycle collision on Tierra Rejada Road.

The January 21 incident occurred at 6:04 p.m. in the area of Tierra Rejada Road and Stargaze Place, the Simi Valley Police Department revealed.

After investigation, the authorities determined that a black 2006 Suzuki GSX-R600 traveled eastbound on Tierra Rejada Road toward Stargaze Place with the man in the rider’s seat and the woman as a passenger. Meanwhile, a 17-year-old male from Simi Valley drove a tan 2008 Toyota Camry westbound on Tierra Rejada Road.

When the Toyota turned left onto Stargaze place, the motorcycle crashed with the passenger side of the Camry, Cmdr. Steve Shorts said.

Responders took the motorcycle occupants to a local hospital trauma center with serious injuries. Reports also revealed that the man is in a life-threatening condition. Meanwhile, the Camry driver didn’t suffer any injury and has been cooperative with the investigation.

The authorities didn’t make any arrests but they pointed out that speed probably played a role in the crash.

The crash led the closure of all lanes of Tierra Rejada Road in both directions for multiple hours. However, by 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, the road reopened.
