2 Hospitalized after Car Accident on Lyon Avenue

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (July 22, 2019) – Two people sustained serious injuries in a car accident on Lyon Avenue on July 19.
 
State officials responded to the collision around 3:46 a.m. According to reports, a driver didn’t stop at a posted stop sign on Lyon Avenue and Ramona Boulevard. In addition, they also received reports of a major injuries sustained as a result of the accident.
 
Upon their arrival, they located a grey Toyota Corolla and a white Chevy utility truck.
 
Moreover, the pickup truck driver remained unharmed. However, the Toyota driver and passenger both suffered serious injuries.
 
Emergency responders later transported the victims to Riverside University Health Medical Center’s Trauma Center in Moreno Valley. The driver immediately underwent emergency surgery for treatment of “major internal injuries” due to the impact.
 
Furthermore, the passenger also suffered serious. However, their injuries are not life-threatening.
 
Preliminary investigation also revealed that the eastbound Toyota was traveling on Ramona Boulevard while the truck was heading north on Lyon Avenue.
 
There, the Toyota failed to stop at the stop sign and eventually collided with the utility vehicle.
 
Furthermore, authorities currently believe that alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision at this time.
 
Police also encouraged anyone who witnessed the crash to call the San Jacinto Station at (951) 654-2702.
 
In addition, the surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
