Vehicle Crash on Highway 132 Killed 2 People, Severely Injured 3 Others

 
Vernalis, CA (September 9, 2020) – On Monday, two people died while three others were seriously injured in a vehicle crash on Highway 132.
 
Reports said officers received a call about the accident on Labor Day minutes after 4 PM. The incident happened between River Road and McCracken Road.
 
Apparently, a green Honda Civic was traveling east on Highway 132 near Kasson Road. At the same time, a white Ford Econoline van was traveling west.
 
Trying to avoid the traffic, the Honda swerved sharply to the right. It moved back into the eastbound lane and continued onto the right shoulder.
 
The California Highway Patrol said the Civic then spun out of control and crossed all lanes into the path of the Ford.
 
As a result, the van crashed with the passenger side of the Honda.
 
California Highway Patrol found the van down an embankment on the north side of the highway. While the Civic incurred major damage to its right side upon impact.
 
Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene. They confirmed that the Honda driver and front-seat passenger died on the scene.
 
Furthermore, firefighters rescued two children trapped in Honda’s back seat.
 
Immediately, medical personnel rushed the juveniles and the Ford operator to the hospital with apparent significant injuries.
 
Authorities have not yet disclosed the names of the deceased and wounded parties. Meanwhile, officers forced Highway 132 to shut down following the wreck.
 
Meanwhile, the cause of the tragic incident remains under investigation.
