Injuries Reported in Moreno Valley Auto Accident on 60 Freeway near Nason Street
MORENO VALLEY, CA (July 8, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, two people suffered injuries in a rollover crash on 60 Freeway near Nason Street.
The crash occurred around 12:40 p.m. on eastbound 60 Freeway near Nason Street.
According to reports, a black GMC Yukon lost control for unknown reasons. Then, it flipped and rolled along the eastbound side of 60 Freeway. Afterward, it went over the center divider wall and into the No. 1 lane on the westbound side.
As a result, the driver or front-seat passenger was thrown off and tossed into the westbound fast lane. The impact left the ejected person with major injuries.
Thus, Riverside County Fire Department paramedics transported the patient to nearby Riverside University Medical Center in critical condition. Meanwhile, the other occupant in the SUV was transported to the same hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to reports, two other vehicles suffered minor damage in the collision. However, the authorities haven’t reported any other injuries.
Meanwhile, the CHP officers closed eastbound lanes and detoured traffic around the crash site to the right shoulder. Also, the incident shut down two westbound lanes while crews worked at the scene.
By 1:00 p.m., the officers issued a SigAlert due to the shutdowns and blockage.
According to authorities, the closures will stay in effect until 3:00 p.m.
