The pickup driver turned east onto Highway 507 from Old McKenna Road Southeast. Meanwhile, A Yelm Police detective in an unmarked car drove a couple of cars ahead of the suspect. After seeing what happened, the detective activated the vehicle’s lights.

The suspect then attempted to pass the detective by using the westbound lane. However, he lost control of the truck and crashed with another pickup that was driving west near Vail Road Southeast.

Carlson confirmed that three people occupied the truck’s can. Meanwhile, a 59-year-old Seattle woman was riding in the truck bed.

Responders transported the 28-year-old Tacoma male driver of the truck. Also, they transported a 33-year-old Yelm woman who rode in the cab’s middle seat. Both of them were taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia with injuries.
