PIRU, CA (March 1, 2021) – Sunday night, two people suffered injuries and a horse died in a crash on Highway 126 near Center Street.
 
The incident involving three vehicles occurred just after 8:30 p.m. According to reports, a horse runs in the center lanes of Highway 126. Then, a vehicle struck the horse near Center Street.
 
As a result, the horse died at the crash scene.
 
Meanwhile, firefighters extricated a person from one of the vehicles. Then, responders took the person to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in critical condition.
 
Moreover, a second patient suffered minor injuries.
 
Also, the authorities closed the highway in both directions while crews worked in the area.
 
At this time, the CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
