Driver Flees in Uber after Rohnert Park 4-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101

 
ROHNERT PARK, CA (October 22, 2020) – Tuesday night, two people suffered injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 101.
 
According to CHP spokesman David deRutte, the incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. A red Mercedes sedan maneuvered an unsafe lane change. Thus, crashing into a Chevy Cruze. Afterward, the Chevy struck another car. The third vehicle began spinning until it crashed into a fourth vehicle.
 
Then, the Chevy Cruze drove off the road and hit a tree. After crashing, the Chevy started catching fire. Thus, responding firefighters extinguished the fire immediately.
 
As a result, responders transported two people to a hospital with minor injuries. As of this time, the authorities haven’t clarified which vehicle the two victims came from.
 
On the other hand, authorities later found the abandoned red Mercedes. They located it in the parking lot of a nearby 24 Hour Fitness where the driver left it. The officers confirmed that the vehicle was registered to an Oakland address.
 
“We believe he called an Uber and left,” deRutte added.
 
Reports revealed that three more vehicles crashed on the highway following the initial collision.
