Father and Daughter Hospitalized after Crash with Suspected Street Racer on Somerset Boulevard
PARAMOUNT, CA (May 29, 2018) – A father and his 7-year-old daughter were hospitalized Tuesday evening following a head-on collision on Texaco Avenue. Investigators suspect that the incident was a result of street racing.
As per reports, the crash took place around 7:30 PM near the intersection of Texaco Avenue and Somerset Boulevard. A black Acura was attempting to beat a red light when it swerved to avoid an unspecified vehicle making a left turn.
As a result, the Acura collided head-on with a white Toyota Camry. The Toyota was carrying a father and his child, who were both transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The child reportedly sustained major injuries and was listed in critical condition, while the father’s current condition is currently unknown.
The driver of the Acura was taken into custody after the collision, but it is unknown if any charges were filed against him. Speed is considered as the main contributing factor in the crash at this time.
