Injuries Sustained in Chula Vista Accident on Palomar Street

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (May 19, 2020) – Late Saturday evening, two people sustained injuries in a DUI car crash on Palomar Street in Chula Vista.
 
According to Officer V. Del Rio of the Chula Vista Police Department, the incident occurred at 10:44 p.m. in the 800 block of East Paloma Street.
 
Officer Del Rio added that initially a tow truck driver hauling a vehicle travelled in the westbound No. 2 lane of East Palomar Street.
 
As the 25-year-old man traveled on the road, a westbound 2001 Toyota 4Runner SUV collided with him. Due to the impact, the 4Runner overturned and landed on its side.
 
As a result, emergency responders transported the driver and a passenger to the hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the 4Runner driver who was reportedly cooperative with the investigation was later detained on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
The police traffic division is still continuously investigating the injury collision due to a lack of information. Once available, the public will be updated.
