2 People Hospitalized after Pedestrian Crash on Van Ness Boulevard and Clinton Avenue [Fresno, CA]

Injuries Reported in Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Van Ness Boulevard

 
FRESNO, CA (February 9, 2021) – Monday afternoon, two people required hospitalization after a pedestrian crash on Van Ness Boulevard and Clinton Avenue.
 
The authorities received a report of a reckless driver on Clinton Avenue at about 12:40 p.m. Then, they received another report about a white van that matched the description of the vehicle involved in a collision. According to the caller, two vehicles and a pedestrian were involved.
 
Upon the arrival of the authorities, they located a white van and a white Mini Cooper.
 
They found the Mini Cooper in a front yard and the pedestrian was under a Toyota Prius parked in the driveway.
 
After getting the pedestrian and the Mini Cooper driver, they transported the two to CRMC in critical condition. As of this time, both are now in stable condition.
 
Meanwhile, the van driver tried to escape but was apprehended. The authorities then booked the driver into jail on felony hit and run and driving on a suspended license.
 
Also, the incident led to the closure of southbound Van Ness Blvd. between Clinton Ave. and Terrace Ave. Furthermore, Clinton was blocked in both directions starting at Wishon Ave.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t clarified whether the van ran a red light or not.
