Police Officer and Driver Injured in Fountain Valley Crash on Slater Avenue

 
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (October 5, 2020) – Sunday morning, two people suffered injuries in an accident on Slater Avenue in Fountain Valley.
 
The incident happened at 3:02 a.m. on Slater Avenue and Magnolia Street. According to reports, an SUV drove past a red light and hit a police officer responding to assist in a traffic stop. As a result, the police officer sustained minor injuries, the Fountain Valley Police Department revealed.
 
As of this time, the authorities haven’t confirmed whether they cited or arrested the driver of the white 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. Reports revealed that the 37-year-old driver was a Buena Park resident.
 
Police revealed that the vehicle broadsided the patrol unit that was driving north on Magnolia Street.
 
As a result, responders transported both officer and driver to an area hospital for treatment.
 
The accident on Slater Avenue remains under investigation.
