Two People Dead After a Two-Vehicle Collision on Evans Road

Wapato, WA (August 21, 2020) – On Thursday morning, 2 people died due to a fatal crash at the intersection of Evans Road and Harrah Road.

The Yakima County Sheriff‘s Office investigation said that the crash happened at about 8:15 a.m. and it appears a vehicle did not yield to a stop sign in the intersection.

Subsequently, the car crashed into the side of a large dump truck.

Authorities said that the dump truck spilled oil onto the car, and both quickly flared up.

The driver of the dump truck is severely burnt, but managed to escape the blaze. Unfortunately, for the two passengers of the car, both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations are still ongoing, and the identities of the victims are not yet released.

We’d like to express our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of both victims. This is no easy time for anyone, and we hope those affected find comfort and strength around them.

The Aftermath of Fatal Crash

Mark Sweet, a seasoned attorney at Sweet Lawyers says “The aftermath of tragic accidents can make everything difficult for a family. The last thing most families want to deal with is piles of paperwork, questions from insurance companies or defense attorneys, and attempting to obtain police reports. Grieving and handling legal claims don’t exactly go hand in hand. That’s why hiring an experienced legal representative will give you peace of mind that you have an advocate in your corner, one that also makes sure your rights are respected, and that justice is served. Having a lawyer after such a traumatizing event will provide your family the space to heal while making sure your loved one is vindicated,”

It is clear now more than ever that one person’s negligence can have devastating effects on other individuals. This is quite common in accidents that result in death.

As the loved ones of the deceased victims grieve, it is important to recognize that if your family loses a member in an accident, you may recover damages through a wrongful death suit. Ultimately, a wrongful death lawsuit gives the loved ones of a departed family member an opportunity at justice.
