2 Men Dead in Lockwood Valley Motorcycle Crash
LOCKWOOD VALLEY, CA (May 30, 2019) – Two motorcyclists died Wednesday afternoon in a crash at Maricopa Highway and Lockwood Valley Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the victims were two male adults, one in his 40s and one in his 50s. One of the motorcyclists was from Camarillo, while the other was from Arizona. Officers will not release their names until their families are notified.
The CHP said callers reported the crash at 12:14 p.m. at Maricopa Highway and Lockwood Valley Road in Los Padres National Forest.
Resources from Kern County and at least two helicopter crews responded to the incident. They located the two motorcyclists over the side of the road when they arrived at the scene and performed CPR on one of the victims. However, both riders were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigators said that they did not find skid marks on the roadway. Additionally, there were no witnesses to the crash which is under investigation.
