2 Men Injured in Car Collision on West Sixth Street [Corona, CA]

Two Victims Hospitalized after Multi-Vehicle Accident on South Sherman Avenue

CORONA, CA (November 16, 2018) – Late Friday afternoon, a 45-year-old and 83-year-old man sustained serious injuries following a car collision on West Sixth Street. Authorities have not yet released their identities.

The crash occurred on South Sherman Avenue around 5:00 PM, when A 45-year-old Corona resident was heading eastbound in a Nissan and veered into the westbound lanes.

There, he collided with a westbound Kia SUV, driven by an 83-year-old San Bernardino resident. Due to the impact of the collision, the elderly victim was ejected from the vehicle.

First responders arrived at the scene in the 1300 block of Sixth Street, to find both occupants severely injured. The two victims were quickly transported to the Riverside Community Hospital,m but the status of their conditions is currently unknown.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation; however, police do not suspect impairment to be a factor in the incident. Authorities shut down the area between Sherman and Smith Avenue for several hours for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but have since reopened.

No more details regarding the circumstances leading up to the accident have been disclosed to the public at this time.
