Two Unidentified Men Dead after Crash on US Highway 57 in Batesville
Batesville, TX (May 4, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, two men died, and two others sustained injuries in a crash on US Highway 57.
The fatal crash on US Highway 57 in Batesville happened around 12:30 p.m. on May 4, just Southwest of San Antonio.
Police said that the driver of a black SUV was involved in human smuggling and was speeding down the highway to evade police. That’s when the SUV collided with a semi-tanker truck that was hauling fuel.
Authorities said two men died at the scene. They believe the two were undocumented migrants.
