2 People Killed in Tragic 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 72 [Bollinger County, MO]

Bollinger County, MO (November 29, 2024) On Wednesday afternoon, a tragic 2-vehicle collision on Highway 72 claimed the life of 2 people and hurt another person.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the deadly incident happened at around 1:20 p.m. on MO 72.

Reports say that the tragic two-vehicle crash claimed two lives and left another person seriously injured.

Authorities say that the incident occurred around 1:20 p.m. on MO 72, approximately three miles west of Patton.

Officials say that a 48-year-old woman from Carbondale was driving an SUV when it crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck.

The 76-year-old Arcadia man driving the pickup died at the scene. His 75-year-old passenger, also from Arcadia, was transported to a Cape Girardeau hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The SUV driver sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized in Cape Girardeau. Both vehicles were destroyed in the collision, MSHP reported.
