Merced County, CA (September 28, 2024) On Friday afternoon, 2 drivers were killed in a horrific wrong-way crash on Highway 152.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Los Banos reported that they received alerts about a wrong-way driver traveling east in the westbound lanes of the highway just outside Los Banos.

Officials stated that the driver sideswiped one vehicle before colliding head-on with a full-size SUV.

Both vehicles caught fire as a result of the crash. CHP confirmed that both drivers died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not yet identified the wrong-way driver or determined why they were driving in the wrong direction.
