Police Investigate Fatal Head-On Crash on State Route 260 in Camp Verde

Camp Verde, AZ (December 7, 2024) – Friday afternoon, two people died in a fiery head-on crash on State Route 260.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. at milepost 230 on State Route 260, located a few miles east of Camp Verde. 

DPS spokesperson Bart Graves confirmed that the collision involved a head-on crash between a sedan and a truck towing a trailer. 

The impact caused the sedan to catch fire, blocking the highway.

The crash led to a complete closure of the road in both directions for about six hours before it was reopened.

Officials have not yet released further information about the victims, but their identities are expected to be disclosed in the coming days.
