The crash happened just before 3:00 p.m. on Eight Mile Road near 5 Freeway, in front of Oak Grove Park.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Infiniti sedan was speeding and driving erratically on eastbound Eight Mile Road from 5 Freeway. After attempting to pass traffic on the left, it lost control, crashed into a wooden fence, taking out five sections. The car then knocked down a light pole and a tree, before bursting into flames.

The third occupant was able to escape from the burning car. Paramedics took the patient to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
