2 Killed in Car Accident on Pacific Coast Highway [Big Sur, CA]

Fatalities Reported after Big Sur Accident on PCH

 
BIG SUR, CA (February 24, 2020) – Early Wednesday morning, two people were killed in a car accident on Pacific Coast Highway near Big Sur.
 
According to reports, a rented Camaro veered off a cliff on the coastal highway around 3:00 a.m. The vehicle eventually caught fire and killed two occupants inside.
 
Fire crews initially received a report of an acre-long brush fire in the area. However, they later located the flame-engulfed 2018 Chevrolet Camaro roughly 300 feet from the roadway.
 
State officials put out the flame while medics recovered two charred bodies inside the vehicle.
 
The cause of the accident remains unknown as of this time. The surrounding area on Pacific Coast Highway was closed off during preliminary duties. More information will be released once available.
 
Police are still trying to identify the two occupants of the vehicle that went down 300 feet off PCH.
