2 Hospitalized after Yakima Multi-Vehicle Accident on 40th Avenue

 
YAKIMA, WA (July 11, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on 40th Avenue and Fruitvale Boulevard on July 10.
 
Yakima County Sheriff’s deputies revealed that the crash began with the pursuit of a man driving a stolen truck. According to Sheriff’s spokesman Casey Schilperoort, they started the pursuit in the area of Summitview and Rocky Top Road at around 6:35 a.m. They began the chase when they saw the suspect driving the stolen truck.
 
The chase went on but because for the safety of the deputies, they stopped. The suspect escaped, eventually failing to stop at a red light and collided with two vehicles on 40th Avenue and Fruitvale Boulevard.
 
Responders transported two people to a local hospital.
 
Meanwhile, authorities arrested the suspect at the scene.
