Two Drivers Hospitalized after Crash on Interstate 880 in Oakland

Oakland, CA (March 10, 2023) – Wednesday night, two drivers sustained injuries in a crash on Interstate 880.

The crash on Interstate 880 in Oakland happened at about 10:46 p.m. on March 8.

CHP said the collision involved a Red Cross van carrying blood and another vehicle.

Reportedly, a van belonging to the Red Cross collided with a Nissan Xterra sport-utility vehicle, causing the Nissan to roll over.

Officers said two drivers were injured including one trapped inside.

EMS transported both drivers to a hospital in unknown conditions.

Meanwhile, none of the blood was damaged. 

Further investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
