Injuries Reported in Merced County Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 140 and North Cunningham Road

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (April 12, 2022) – Sunday morning, two people suffered injuries in a crash on Highway 140 and North Cunningham Road.
 
The crash happened at around 11:55 a.m. on Highway 140 and North Cunningham Road.
 
According to reports, 23-year-old Bryan Gonzalez Alvarez of North Hills drove a 2016 Volkswagen sedan. As he traveled north on North Cunningham Road, he approached the intersection. Then, Gonzalez Alvarez didn’t stop at a posted stop sign.
 
He went into the intersection and crashed with 43-year-old Christina Hawley driving a westbound 2018 Audi sedan on Highway 140. As a result, the Audi rolled and responders airlifted both drivers to Modesto-area hospitals with major injuries that are not life-threatening.
 
Also, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
Due to the limited information available, the crash remains under active investigation.
