Injuries Reported in Costa Mesa Auto Accident on Baker Street and Newport Boulevard

 
COSTA MESA, CA (April 14, 2022) – Wednesday morning, two people suffered injuries in a crash on Baker Street and Newport Boulevard.
 
The authorities received a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a tree after 12:30 a.m. Moreover, the crash occurred on the 600 block of West Baker Street and Newport Boulevard.
 
When the first responders arrived, they found a BMW in pieces and surrounding a tree. Also, male and female occupants were trapped inside.
 
Thus, the firefighters utilized the jaws of life to free them from the crash.
 
“Due to the extensive damage to the vehicle, the extrication was complex. And required our crews to methodically and carefully remove the twisted metal that surrounded and trapped the victims in the vehicle,” Battalion Chief Chris Coates said.
 
After the crash, responders took the patients to a local trauma center.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the cause crash.
 
“At this point in the investigation, no arrests have been made. And there is no suspicion drugs or alcohol was involved,” Costa Mesa police spokesman Roxi Fyad said.
