2 Hurt in Paradise Car Collision near Twain Avenue
PARADISE, NV (December 9, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a car collision near Twain Avenue on December 5.
Authorities arrested a driver after he collided into a civilian vehicle and a Las Vegas police vehicle. At about 8:30 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department officers spotted a speeding male driver near Twain Avenue and Palos Verdes Street. Before the authorities could stop him, the driver hit another vehicle and traveled east to Swenson Street, Lt. Ken Nogle revealed.
The male driver then struck the rear of a marked Metro patrol vehicle. Authorities arrested the driver “without further incident.”
No officer sustained injuries but the male driver and the first vehicle’s driver sustained injuries. It is still unknown whether impairment played a role in the collision.
Authorities shut down the intersection between Twain Avenue and Swenson in both directions. During the investigation, the police also shut down eastbound Twain at Palos Verdes.
