880 Freeway Multi-Vehicle Crash Sends 2 People to Hospital in Fremont

FREMONT, CA (September 05, 2019) — Two people suffered injuries in 880 Freeway multi-vehicle crash Wednesday early morning.

The accident occurred in the middle northbound lanes, near the Auto Mall Parkway exit, at around 5:20 a.m. Involved were eight vehicles as per the California Highway Patrol. That includes a car left crumpled underneath a van.

Medics took the two injured patients to the hospital. One of them sustained major injuries.

The authorities closed the northbound lanes between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. during the investigation and medical response. This caused a massive morning rush hour backup on the 880 Freeway. All lanes have since reopened.
