2 People Hurt in Alarming Big Rig Crash on Interstate 215 and Ramona Expressway [Perris, CA]

Injuries Reported in Perris Auto Accident on Interstate 215 and Ramona Expressway

PERRIS, CA (March 20, 2025) – Wednesday afternoon, an alarming big rig crash on Interstate 215 and Ramona Expressway hurt 2.

The incident involving a big rig and a car occurred just after 3:00 p.m. on northbound Interstate 215, half a mile north of the Ramona Expressway. 

A tractor-trailer and a Honda Civic collided, causing the sedan to become partially wedged under the semi.

Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived within minutes and initially prepared for a cut-and-rescue operation. However, firefighters were able to open a door without cutting into the vehicle. Both occupants, an adult and a child, were safely extricated.

CHP reported that both victims were taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley with minor injuries.
Two of three freeway lanes were initially closed, but one was quickly reopened, leaving a single lane closure as of 3:40 p.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
