2 People Hospitalized in Multi-Car Accident in Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY, CA (April 1, 2019) – A three-car accident on Gilman Springs Road near Bridge Street early Saturday resulted in several injuries.

Around 1:10 a.m., California Highway Patrol, Fire Department officials and Hemet police officers responded to the scene. A two-car accident that involved a third vehicle sent two people to nearby hospitals.

In the investigation, officials determined that a white Dodge sedan, a white SUV and a silver sedan collided. Officers say the Dodge driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and veered into the opposing lane. Subsequently, a three-car accident unfolded. The collision caused major front-end damage to the Dodge and white SUV and moderate front and driver-side damage to the silver sedan.

Arriving firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate the Dodge driver from the vehicle. Shortly thereafter, paramedics transported the patient to a hospital with moderate injuries. Additionally, the driver of the SUV was also taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, the two occupants of the silver sedan escaped harm and declined treatment at the scene.

Authorities are investigating this case further to determine the circumstances and liabilities.

Car accidents can happen to anyone at any time. To avoid the dangers of traffic collisions, drive defensively and responsibly. If you’re tired or impaired, do not get behind the wheel. Drivers are also encouraged to pay attention to their surroundings and act quickly when sensing trouble.
