Caruthers, CA (March 8, 2025) – 18-year-old Daniel Avila died early Friday morning after a tragic 2-car collision on Kamm Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident happened at the intersection of W. Kamm and S. Brawley avenues.

Reports say that the two-vehicle collision claimed the life of 18-year-old Avila early Friday morning.

Authorities reported that Avila was driving a Ford truck westbound on Kamm Avenue, while a semi-truck traveled eastbound on the same road. Both vehicles collided near the center of the roadway. Avila sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. The semi-truck driver was unharmed.

Authorities believe the Ford truck may have had a dash cam. Toxicology results are pending as the investigation continues.
