2 DUI Suspects Arrested after Pedestrian Accident on Van Buren Boulevard and Challen Avenue [Riverside, CA]

RIVERSIDE, CA (September 29, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, authorities arrested 2 DUI suspects after a pedestrian accident on Van Buren Boulevard and Challen Avenue.
 
According to reports, a 47-year-old Riverside resident drove a southbound gray Chevrolet Colorado at about noon. The driver traveled south on Van Buren Boulevard towards Challen Avenue.
 
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old Riverside resident drove a northbound white Toyota Corolla. Then, the driver turned left onto Challen Avenue from northbound Van Buren Boulevard on a green arrow signal, police revealed.
 
Reports confirmed that the Chevrolet pulled into the intersection against a red traffic signal. Then, it collided with the Toyota. Afterward, the Chevrolet left the intersection and hit a man walking on the sidewalk.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered major injuries. Then, responders took the patient to the hospital.
 
Moreover, the authorities confirmed that both drivers suffered no injuries in the crash.
 
They added that both drivers traveled under the influence and were taken into custody.
