19-Year-Old Woman Injured in Rollover Crash on Borel Road [French Valley, CA]

Hemet Woman Pinned after Solo-Vehicle Accident near Winchester Road

FRENCH VALLEY, CA (December 11, 2018) – A Hemet woman was injured Tuesday afternoon following a rollover crash on Borel Road. The identity of the 19-year-old victim was not immediately disclosed to the public.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Winchester Road, at about 3:00 PM. A 2000 Toyota 4-Runner was traveling westbound when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and overcorrected.

The vehicle collided with a raised dirt embankment and overturned, ejecting the driver. Eventually, the SUV came to a rest on its roof, pinning the woman’s legs underneath. Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters arrived at the scene and freed the victim from the wreckage.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the SUV, suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Inland Valley Hospital. Further updates on her current medical condition were not provided.

An investigation is ongoing to identify possible contributing factors and to determine the main cause of the crash. It was also noted that the driver was not secured in a seat belt at the time of the accident. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
