Driver Killed in University Place Auto Accident on 35th Street

 
UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA (December 21, 2020) – On Sunday, a 19-year-old female died in a two-vehicle crash on 6700 Block of 35th Street.
 
According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 1:00 a.m., at the 6700 block of 35th Street West in University Place.
 
Responders found a blue Mazda 3 with heavy damage on the side of the road. Then, paramedics pronounced the driver, a 19-year-old female dead at the scene.
 
Furthermore, officers found an unoccupied Cadillac STS with heavy damage east of the Mazda. A single shoe was found inside the vehicle as well as evidence that the suspect driver sustained injuries in the crash before leaving on foot.
 
Afterward, authorities contacted the owner of the abandoned vehicle and learned that the owner’s son was at an area hospital with injuries. Deputies rushed to the hospital and matched the shoe found at the vehicle to the suspected driver.
 
Also, authorities obtained a blood draw search warrant for the 17-year-old male suspect.
 
Moreover, the incident is under active investigation.
