18-Year-Old Student Killed in Rollover Crash near Wolfforth [Lubbock, TX]

1 Dead in Lubbock Auto Accident near Wolfforth

 
LUBBOCK, TX (February 1, 2023) – Tuesday morning, an 18-year-old student died in a rollover crash near Wolfforth.
 
The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. near Wolfforth, around 12 miles Southwest of Lubbock.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, an 18-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle. Then, it hit a slick patch on an overpass, leading the vehicle to overturn.
 
Afterward, responders took the driver to Covenant Hospital in Lubbock for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, the passenger succumbed to injuries at the scene. Officers described the victim as an 18-year-old student from the Ropes Independent School District.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
