Sring Valley Fatal Crash Kills Pedestrian
Spring Valley, CA (January 23, 2022) On Friday night, a pedestrian was killed by a 17-year-old boy in a fatal crash on Sweetwater Road.
Authorities say that the collision happened around 7:09 p.m. on Sweetwater Road north of Saint George Street.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the teenager was driving a Volvo.
Moreover, CHP says “the pedestrian was hit when he stepped out from the sidewalk to cross the street and wound up “directly in front of the Volvo.”
Furthermore, the unidentified pedestrian was initially hurt but later on succumbed to the injuries.
Meanwhile, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office took in the victim’s body to later identify and notify the next of kin.
Authorities say that the teenage driver and his passengers were safe and unhurt.
At the moment, the CHP is investigating the crash to know the probable cause, and whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
