Teenager Dies and Two Others Injured in Solo-Car Crash on Simmons Lane
NOVATO, CA (September 15, 2019) – A 16-year-old boy lost his life in a solo-car crash on Simmons Lane, Sunday afternoon.
According to the Novato Police Department, the incident happened in the 1100 block of Simmons Lane, shortly after noon. A white four-door sedan attempted to pass another vehicle before veering off the road. Then, the sedan slammed into a brick retaining wall near Marion Avenue.
Officers arrived to find an engine fire, which they quickly put out.
Emergency responders pronounced the 16-year-old driver dead at the scene. Due to his age, his identity will not be disclosed. Meanwhile, two 16-year-old male passengers were rushed to Bay Area hospitals with unspecified injuries.
