Teen Bicyclist Hospitalized in Alder Avenue Crash
North Lake Tahoe, NV (July 09, 2021) – On July 2, a 14-year-old boy was injured in Alder Avenue hit-and-run crash.
The accident happened at around 9:45 p.m. at the Village Boulevard intersection.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the boy in a ditch with people and medical personnel helping.
Right away, the rescuers took him to Reno hospital for treatment of significant leg injuries.
Witness said a driver of a red 1995 Jeep Wrangler was northbound on Village Parkway. Then, it turned westbound onto Alder Way and struck the boy while he was riding a bicycle. They said the Jeep driver got out and said something to the teen, then drove off.
Later on, the deputies found a Jeep fitting that description, with evidence of a recent incident.
Moreover, a warrant was granted for that vehicle’s seizure.
Detectives have a person of interest in this case.
