1 Injured in Reno Pedestrian Accident
RENO, NV (December 18, 2019) – A 10-year-old boy sustained injuries after a car hit him on Evergreen Street on December 16.
The incident occurred on Evergreen Street and South Meadows Parkway. Responders took the boy to a local hospital with two broken legs.
According to officials, the child walked across South Meadows Parkway and got struck by a car when it turned onto South Meadows from Evergreen Street.
They also clarified that the child had the right of way. The driver stayed at the scene and received a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Authorities ruled out speed and impairment as factors in the collision.
The crash led to the closure of South Meadows Parkway and Double R Boulevard during the investigation. The roads have since reopened.
