1 Hospitalized after Mission Bay Pedestrian Crash on Mission Bay Drive

MISSION BAY, CA (March 25, 2020) – Early Tuesday morning on March 10, an unidentified person sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian crash on Mission Bay Drive.

Authorities received reports of the crash just before 6:50 a.m., on West Mission Bay Drive. Dispatchers arrived near Quivira Access, shortly after.

Medics transported the pedestrian to UC San Diego Medical Center for further treatment of serious injuries. However, the person’s condition and the extent of injuries remain unknown as of this time.

Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officials.

During the investigation, police also closed the on-ramp from northbound Ingraham Street to West Mission Bay Drive and westbound Mission Bay Drive from Ingraham to Quivira Access. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.

If you’re crossing the street, do so at designated crosswalks or intersections. When walking alongside a road, remain on the sidewalk wherever possible. If there is no sidewalk, walk on the shoulder and face oncoming traffic.
