Woman Dead in Placer County Auto Accident on Highway 65 near Nelson Lane

PLACER COUNTY, CA (October 31, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a person died in a tragic DUI crash on Highway 65 near Nelson Lane.

The incident happened at around 1:20 a.m. on Highway 65, north of Nelson Lane.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound vehicle veered off the right shoulder and rolled over.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that a 24-year-old female passenger of the vehicle died in the crash after being ejected into the roadway. Then, paramedics transported the 26-year-old male driver of the vehicle to a hospital with major injuries.

Furthermore, officers believe that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence at the time of the incident.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
