1 Dead in Las Vegas Car Accident
LAS VEGAS, NV (May 20, 2019) – A person died in a car collision on Charleston Boulevard on May 18.
Officers came to West Charleston Boulevard and South Town Center Drive around 8:20 a.m., Lt. Bill Steinmetz revealed. According to reports, a southbound Toyota pickup on Town Center ran a red light and crashed into a Nissan sedan.
The crash forced Nissan to hit a wall. Fortunately, the driver wore a seatbelt and sustained moderate injuries only. Medics transported the 27-year-old Nissan female driver from Pahrump to a nearby hospital.
Steinmetz also added that the 59-year old Toyota male driver did not wear a seat belt and died at the scene. Authorities did not consider impairment as a factor in the collision.
The road remained closed during the police investigation.
“LVMPD wants to remind drivers to buckle up when driving,” Steinmetz stated. “This likely would have been a standard accident without a life lost should a seatbelt have been worn. Please, buckle up and stay safe.”
