Woman Hospitalized After Crash on Interstate 80 in Sacramento

Sacramento, CA (February 7, 2025) – A woman sustained serious injuries in a crash on Interstate 80.

The California Highway Patrol reported that a woman suffered major injuries after a two-part incident on Interstate 80 in Sacramento County early Friday morning. 

Around 2:40 a.m., while traveling eastbound near Elkhorn Boulevard, the woman lost control of her Honda Pilot, resulting in a solo crash that left the vehicle disabled and blocking two center lanes.

As she remained near the stopped vehicle, an eastbound driver in a Chevrolet Express struck her. 

Emergency responders transported the woman to a local hospital with serious injuries. 

Authorities confirmed that neither driver showed signs of impairment from drugs or alcohol.
