CHP Investigates Big Rig Crash on 60 Freeway in Jurupa Valley

Jurupa Valley, CA (March 14, 2025) – One person sustained injuries in a crash on 60 Freeway.

A tanker truck carrying propane overturned Friday morning on the 60 Freeway in Jurupa Valley, causing major traffic delays and injuring at least one person. 

The crash happened at 5:25 a.m. when the big rig collided with another vehicle, causing the propane truck to overturn and block two eastbound lanes at Valley Way, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Emergency responders transported one injured person to a hospital by ambulance, the Riverside County Fire Department reported. 

Following the crash, CHP issued a SigAlert, closing the HOV lane and lanes 1 and 2 while diverting traffic off the freeway at Valley Way.

Riverside County firefighters remained at the scene until they declared it safe at 7:13 a.m. 

However, as of 8:40 a.m., crews stated they would continue working for another two to three hours to complete vehicle recovery and mitigate any potential propane leaks.
