SAN DIEGO, CA (October 29, 2019)— A three-vehicle crash Monday morning on the 805 Freeway near Imperial Avenue left one person hospitalized.
 
Authorities stated that the multi-car accident occurred around 8 a.m.
 
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Bettencourt, a vehicle stalled in the carpool lane of the southbound freeway under unknown circumstances before two vehicles slammed into it.
 
Purportedly, airbags deployed in at least one of the cars involved, leaving a person suffering from facial cuts. As soon as paramedics arrived, the patient received medical attention before being transported to Mercy Hospital; however, the severity of his or her injuries remains unclear.
 
Due to the crash, crews closed three lanes of traffic and reopened them by 8:52 a.m.
