Injury Reported in Santa Clara Auto Accident on San Tomas Expressway & Saratoga Avenue
SANTA CLARA, CA (April 21, 2021) – Monday night, a person sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on San Tomas Expressway and Saratoga Avenue.
According to Santa Clara Assistant Police Chief Wahid Kazem, the incident happened at around 9:15 p.m. An officer saw a dark-colored sedan driving at a high rate of speed on southbound San Tomas Expressway, near Homestead Road.
Moments later, the officer witnessed an incident involving the same dark-colored sedan at the intersection of Saratoga Avenue.
Reports revealed that the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle. The force of the crash pushed the other vehicle to crash with another vehicle.
Furthermore, responders transported the driver of the second vehicle to a hospital with unknown injuries.
Also, authorities said that the occupants of the suspect vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
Moreover, Kazem said that the driver of the sedan may have run a red light before the hit and run.
