1 Injured in Discovery Bay Multi-Vehicle Accident

DISCOVERY BAY, CA (December 20, 2018) – A person was airlifted by medical helicopter to an area hospital following a three-vehicle collision on December 18.

Due to the incident, Highway 4 was blocked. It was before 7:00 p.m. when the officers came to respond to a head-on crash between a white Mercedes sedan which blocked eastbound Highway 4 east of a connector to southbound Byron Highway.

As a result of the crash, two other vehicles, a dark grey sport-utility vehicle and a Toyota Camry, sustained moderate damage. A person also complained of pain in the chest and stomach to the first-responders.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the East Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters came to the area to administer medical care to five parties. A space was also cleared out for the REACH medical helicopter to take one person to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

The collision is being investigated by the CHP’s Contra Costa office. Anyone who has information is urged to call them at 925-646-4980.
