LAS VEGAS, NV (March 22, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, 1 person was found lifeless in a 6-vehicle crash near West Desert Inn Road.

The crash involving six vehicles occurred at about 2:30 p.m. near West Desert Inn Road and South Jones Boulevard.

The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that one person died and six others suffered injuries in the crash.

According to reports, the driver of a 2005 Nissan Titan changed lanes at Desert Inn. Then, they lost control which led to a chain reaction crash.

Moreover, the Nissan then drove into oncoming traffic, where it hit a 2010 Ford Flex.

Meanwhile, a 73-year-old female passenger in the Ford succumbed to injuries at University Medical Center.

Moreover, five people in the Ford and the driver of the Nissan with serious injuries required hospitalization.

Also, the authorities do not believe that impairment played a role in the crash.

Furthermore, the crash shut down Desert Inn in both directions between Jones and Red Rock Street.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
