1 Dead in Sonoma Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 37

SONOMA, CA (August 25, 2020) – Monday morning, a person died in a semi-truck crash on westbound Highway 37 at Sears Point.

The three-vehicle crash occurred at around 6:15 a.m. on westbound Highway 37 near the Sonoma Raceway.

According to reports, the semi-truck driver hit the brakes to stop for a red light on Highway 121 intersection. Meanwhile, the semi hit a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. Then, the pickup crashed into a Subaru that spun out.

After the crash, the Toyota and the semi stopped into the cement center divider. As a result, the Toyota driver succumbed to injuries at the scene. His identity remains unreleased due to pending family notification.

Furthermore, the authorities shut down westbound Highway 37 between Mare Island in Vallejo and the crash scene. Moreover, the incident also led to the closure of the left turn from eastbound Highway 37 onto northbound Highway 121. However, all the lanes reopened at 11:45 a.m.
