Motorcyclist Dead in Spokane Valley Accident on East Sprague Avenue near Gillis Road

 
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (June 23, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a person died in a motorcycle crash on East Sprague Avenue near Gillis Road.
 
The incident involving a motorcycle and a car happened at around 10:45 a.m. Moreover, it happened on East Sprague Avenue near Gillis Road, said Corporal Mark Gregory with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
 
According to the initial information, a Subaru driver drove across the westbound lanes of the road. Then, it crashed head-on with the motorcyclist.
 
Several concerned motorists stopped to help and initiate first aid with the Spokane Valley Deputies.
 
Upon the arrival of the authorities, they found the male motorcyclist in his 40s with critical injuries. Also, they confirmed that the rider was not breathing.
 
Thus, they transported the patient to the hospital. However, the rider later succumbed to injuries despite life-saving efforts.
 
Meanwhile, the female Subaru driver in her 30s sustained minor injuries. However, she didn’t require hospitalization.
 
The crash led to the closure of all westbound lanes on Sprague Avenue for multiple hours. By 1:00 p.m., some lanes have reopened.
 
At this time, the Spokane Valley Traffic Unit Investigators are trying to determine what led up to and caused the incident.
