1 Killed, Jesus Lopez Injured in Crash on Highway 46 [Paso Robles, CA]

84-Year-Old Man Killed in Collision near Antelope Road in Paso Robles

 
PASO ROBLES, CA (March 19, 2020) – Sunday night, an elderly San Luis Obispo resident was killed while Jesus Lopez, of Salinas was injured in a head-on crash on Highway 46.
 
California Highway Patrol received reports of the incident around 8:15 p.m. Dispatchers arrived to the area near Antelope Road, shortly after.
 
An 84-year-old man was traveling in the westbound lanes in a 2010 Chino motor-coach. He then veered into the eastbound lanes and eventually collided head-on with Lopez. Lopez was driving a Freight-liner truck at the time.
 
The impact killed the elderly SLO resident. Meanwhile, Jesus Lopez suffered serious injuries and was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
 
Moreover, the surrounding area on Highway 46 was closed off during preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
 
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
