1 Dead in Martinez Auto Accident on Interstate 680 near Marina Vista

MARTINEZ, CA (February 11, 2025) – Monday morning, a woman died in a brutal vehicle crash on Interstate 680 near Marina Vista.

The incident happened around 10:32 a.m. when a white Dodge Caravan veered off northbound Interstate 680 just before the Marina Vista off-ramp.

The CHP said the woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected and died at the scene. The male driver was transported to a hospital with major injuries.

According to the CHP, it did not appear that either occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

As of 11:50 a.m., the three right-hand lanes of I-680 remained closed with no estimated reopening time. However, Marina Vista was still open for those using side roads to reach Martinez.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
